As I finished yesterday’s card, I realized I needed another birthday card for another dear friend. Well, I liked yesterday’s card so much that I duplicated it with a different color scheme and a slightly different layout. So today’s card uses All Thing Fabulous again, but with a different set of colors. Making this card had me experimenting with a bunch of different color combos. Scroll down to see all 28 of them!
Today’s Project
So, for today’s project, I flipped the design on its side. Instead of vertical or portrait, I made it horizontal or landscape. Same elements just a different orientation. I think they both work. What do you think?
I used the same tools and embellishments as for yesterday’s card, so pop over here to see the details on how to construct the card. One change that I made was to use 3 different colors of ink when stamping the flowers. First, I used Balmy Blue. Second, I used Seaside Spray. Last, I used Pretty Peacock. I played with using Night of Navy as the third color but it was too dark. However, it looks great as the card base and for the sentiment.
Today’s Color Scheme
Make the Inside PRetty
You’ll notice I used a different stamp set for the inside greeting. This time I used Peaceful Moments, another of my favorite sentiment sets. I always get a couple of good sentiment stamps that cover a lot of occasions. By doing this, I don’t have to care so much what sentiments are part of a focal image set. If I love a set but hate the sentiments, it doesn’t really matter because I have my trusty sentiment stamps to rescue me!
Don’t Forget the Envelope
Again, I used the same focal image on the front of the envelope that I used on the inside of the card and on the card front. Why change it if it’s working?
So, what’s Next – Color Combos!
Here are some of the alternate color combos I came up with for use with the All Things Fabulous stamp set. Let me know in the comments if you have others!
It’s funny because some that I thought I would really, really like, I didn’t like so much. And, some that were true experiments, I ended up liking a lot! You might want to pin these images so that if you decide to play with this set, you’ll have some combos to try!
I hope you enjoyed today’s card and the color combos to use with All Thing Fabulous. If you don’t have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I’d love to be yours! If you ever have any questions or need a catalog, feel free to comment or email me. And, don’t forget to Pin this post so you can find it again!
