The ‘Always In My Heart’ bundle is not just for Valentine’s Day. It can be used for weddings, friendship, and anniversaries, too. Today and tomorrow, I’m going to be showcasing two cards using the bundle. First, let’s take a peek at the bundle.
I love the sentiments because a couple of them have a curvy appearance and fit nicely in the curved banner. The edge die with the heart cutouts is so sweet. And, the flowers can be used in so many different ways. This bundle is certainly a good value!
Today’s Project
I love the big heart surrounded by flowers. So, I had an idea of cutting the heart twice – once as a base and again to use the pieces to fill in the flowers. Take a look at what I’m talking about.
First, I have to say that I love pink and dark brown together. I’m not sure why, but it speaks to me. So for this card, I used Petal Pink and Early Espresso. As I mentioned before, I cut two hearts, one in Petal Pink, the other in Early Espresso. I attached the Early Espresso heart to a layer of Cherry Cobbler. Then I used the cutout pieces from the Petal Pink Heart to fill in the flower elements on the Early Espresso heart. The second heart was saved to use in tomorrow’s project.
I stamped the sentiment on Petal Pink and fussy cut around it. Then, I used my bone folder to curl it to give it more dimension. The sentiment was attached to the card front using mini-dimensionals.
This card also has a layered ribbon. I used both the Petal Pink Organdy Striped ribbon and Early Espresso Faux Suede trim. I also tied a ‘cheater bow’. I’m really bad at tying bows and always use a bow maker. The first step is to wrap the ribbon around the card front. The second step is to tie a bow with the bow maker. The third step is to attach the bow to the ribbon using glue dots. This gives me a perfect bow every time!
Today’s Color Palette
I’ve started using more Very Vanilla. I was forced to use it for awhile when Stampin’ Up! was transitioning from Whisper White to Basic White due to a paper mill closure. I found that I like the softness of Very Vanilla. It’s not quite as stark as White.
Make the Inside Pretty
Once again, I’ve forgotten to take a picture of the inside! So, I’ll have to describe it and you’ll see something similar on the envelope. Because Early Espresso is so dark, I lined the envelope with a piece of Very Vanilla. The floral images from this set made adding a sweet little flower a snap.
Don’T forget the envelope
You can see the flower on the envelope in the image above along with the elements I used to make this card. The flower was stamped using Petal Pink ink and then using Early Espresso ink to define the petals. Stampin’ Up! has so many two step stamps that I love! They make it easy to get a detailed image with solid color behind it and are perfect for those days when you don’t want to bring out your coloring tools!
If you’d like to try to recreate this card, you can find a list of the products I used at the end of this post. Need a demonstrator or a catalog? Drop me a line and I’ll put one in the mail.
