Welcome to Day #2 of my alternate August Paper Pumpkin cards. My first two cards show an alternate way to use the trophy cut out from the kit. When I saw that trophy, I was at a loss as to how to use it! But, with a little inspiration from the internet, I found the perfect solution – what do you think?
Alternate Card #5 – Happy BirthDay Vase
That’s right, I cut off the top and bottom and Voila’!, it’s a vase! I used the vellum leaves from the kit and cut additional leaves from Petal Pink, Blackberry Bliss, and Mint Macaron cardstock using the Forever Flourishing Dies. I’m pretty sure those dies are never leaving my collection. They are SO versatile. As you’ll see, I used them on quite a few of the cards. Then I stamped Birthday Wishes from the Itty Bitty Birthday Stamp set and mounted it on two of the gold foil banners from the kit. I finished the bard off with a few Gilded Gems.
Alternate Card #6 – Happy Birthday Vase #2
I was so pleased with how the first vase came out, I challenged myself to make a blue version. The blue is very intense and so I need something that was striking. And I found it in the Forever Gold Laser Cut Designer Series Paper. Those die cuts were a perfect match for the kit! I also used a few of the vellum leaves from the kit. For the sentiment, I used the same birthday sentiment from Seaside Notions that I had used in a previous card. I stamped it in Pacific Point ink on a piece of Whisper White which I layered with Bumblebee cardstock. I finished off the card with a few Gold Glitter enamel dots. I’m so pleased I could use those trophies in such a creative way!
Alternate Card #7 – World Greatest Friend
For this card, I challenged myself to use the wide Pacific Point ribbon that came with the kit. I also used the yellow background that came with the kit and the ‘scrap’ piece that the Pacific Point circle was punched out of. I glued a few stars to the card plus I lined up 5 on the ribbon. I think this looks pretty cute!
