Beautiful Shapes for a Scrappy Card

Today’s blog hop is all about using scraps. And I have a quick and easy card using the Beautiful Shapes dies that is perfect for scraps.

Today’s Project – Beautiful Shapes

As you can see, this is a very simple card. I cut hexagons using the Beautiful Shapes dies and You’re a Peach DSP from the soon to be retired Annual Catalog. I loved the stripes and blue flowers on this DSP so much that I only had a few strips left. So cut some out and glued them to the card front.

Even the sentiment is on a scrap! How many times do you cut cardstock and have 1/4″, 1/2″, or even a 1″ strip left? Now, I don’t save them all but I have enough in my stash to use as sentiments for a card. After stamping the sentiment from the retiring Slim Sayings on a 7/8″ piece of Basic White, I glued it flush to the bottom of the card.

Although this project isn’t my usual style for a post, I make a lot of cards like these to have on hand for different occasions, because who doesn’t like to get a card?

On a simple card like this, I like to stick with a monochromatic color scheme to emphasize simplicity.

Make the inside pretty & Don’t forget the Envelope

I cut a couple of extra hexagons to use for the inside and the envelope, making sure to glue the edges down on the envelope.
