Today’s blog hop features Fun Folds, one of my favorite topics! I’ve chosen to use the Best Witches stamp set and a common fun fold that may be new to you. It also uses the Deckled Rectangles dies which are new in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. I remember having scissors to cut this edge back in the day I like the dies better!
Today’s Project – Best Witches
As you can see from this image of the card, the fun fold is not readily visible. The rest of this post will show you how to make the fun fold.
Best Witches Stamp Set
I love open line sets like the Best Witches stamp set. They are perfect for coloring with any of Stampin’ Up!’s coloring tools – blends, pastels, water painters, and blender pens. I chose Stampin’ Blends for this card because I love the way the colors blend.
This set has 3 cute line images to color, 3 great sentiments, and 1 element stamp with stars and dots. For my project, I used the witch with the broom, the element stamp, two of the 3 sentiments, and the frog.
Today’s Color Palette
After stamping the witch with the broom from the Best Witches stamp set using Momento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored her using blends. I used Daffodil Delight for the broom and her hair, Soft Suede for the broom handle,, dark Pumpkin Pie for the buckle on her hat, Highland Heather for her dress, and Basic Black for her hat and cape.
The frog was colored using the Parakeet Party Blends.
You can Make it, Too!
Cut and Score The Cardstock
- Cut the card base from Basic Black card stock at 5 1/2″ X 8 1/2″, Score at 41/4″. Fold on the score line and burnish with a Bone Folder to get a crisp crease.
- Cut the inside using Basic White cardstock at 5 1/4″ x 8:, Score at 2″ and 4″. Fold on the score lines using an accordion fold.
- Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4 1/4″ X 3 1/4″.
Make the Die Cuts
- Cut the piece of Basic White card stock using the 3rd largest Deckled Rectangle die.
- Open the card and cut a ‘window’ on the card front using the 2nd largest Deckled Rectangles die.
Stamp and Color – Best Witches
- On the small Basic White panel, stamp the sentiment and the witch using Momento Tuxedo Black ink.
- Color the witch as described in the Today’s ColorPaletter section.
- Stamp the design element using Versamark ink around the card front.
- Stamp the sentiment on the Basic White panel using Momento Tuxedo Black ink.
- Stamp the frog in the lower left panel of the Basic White panel. Color the frog as described in the section Don’t Forget the Envelope.
Assemble the Fun Fold
- Attach the Basic White panel to the Inside of the card.
- Then with the card closed, attach some Stampin’ Seal to the fold on the inside. Lay the stamped image into the frame on the front matching the deckled edges.
- Open the card and make sure it looks like the image below.
Embellish
Add 3 Glossy Dots as shown in the image above and below.
The above image shows what the card looks like when it’s fully open.
The above image shows how the card looks after attaching the focal image.
Don’t Forget the Envelope
For the envelope, I stamped the frog using Momento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it with the Parakeet Party blends. Tip: Stick a piece of scrap cardstock into the envelope to keep the blends from bleeding through to the back of the envelope.
I hope you enjoyed today’s fun fold. But, now it’s time to see some more fun folds from the other members of Crafty Collaborations. So, grab a beverage, sit back and relaces, and enjoy the hop!
