Today I’m sharing a card from the Blackberry Beauty Suite for an Autumn Challenge blog hop with Crafty Collaborations.
Crafty Collaborations
Crafty Collaborations is composed of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in multiple collaborative projects including blog hops, like this one, tutorials, and swaps to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.
The Blackberry Beauty Suite has to be my favorite suite in the July-December mini catalog. Every element is so gorgeous. Take a look.
The Designer Series Paper (DSP) in this suite is so pertty, it makes card making easy. Just let the DSP do the work! The gold shimmer ribbon ties beautifully. The Blackberry Beauty Ephemera pack is full of gorgeous elements to add to your cards. And, it all fits together so beautifully.
Today’s Project
This card came together so easily. I started with a Blackberry Bliss base. Next, I cut a tag from the Seasonal Labels Dies (a must-have in my opinion) using the middle-sized die with 3 scallops and the smaller ribbon holes. After wrapping a piece of the Gold Shimmer Ribbon around a 4 3/8″ X 5 1/8″ piece of DSP and threading it through the label, I attached the DSP to a piece of Gold Foil which was then attached to the card front. I used some glue dots on the back of the Blackberry Bliss label to ensure it didn’t move around.
I cut another label from the Seasonal Labels dies from the gold foil and attached it to the Blackberry Bliss label using dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped using Blackberry Bliss onto a label from the Blackberry Beauty Ephemera Pack which was attached to the ribbon using double dimensonals. Because the Gold Foil label was attached with dimensionals, I needed a double stack of dimenensionals. Finally, I tucked flowres from the Blackberry Beauty Ephemera pack behind the sentiment using dabs of liquid glue to attach them. And, because the label has more flowers to the right than to the left, I added a bow tied with the same Gold Shimmer ribbon and attached it with a glue dot.
Today’s Color Palette
These colors are so rich and elegant together. The Rich Razzleberry is a tonal contrast and the Gold Foil makes everything pop.
Make the Inside Pretty
I went all out on the inside. Basic White matted on Gold Foil, 1/2 strips of DSP on the top and bottom of the inner panel, and 1/8″ strips of Gold Foil framing the DSP leaves just enough room to write a note or stamp another sentiment.
Don’t Forget the Envelope
For the front of the envelope, another piece from the Blackberry Beauty Ephemera Pack, glued to the front with liquid glue carries on the rich, elegant look.
And, I couldn’t leave the flap blank. Not with that gorgeous DSP to put on it!
Now it’s time for some more collaborative fun. Grab a beverage, sit back and enjoy the hop! You should find some awesome ideas and inspiration as others share their projects made with the Waves of the Ocean suite.
