Have I mentioned how much I love, love, love the Birthday Bonanza paper?? This has to be one of my all-time favorite Stampin’ Up papers. It is just so versatile. Today, I have two all-ages cards for you. I didn’t use the character images from the Bonanza Buddies dies. Instead, I teamed the paper with the Broadway Lights dies to create these two cards. Let’s take a look.
Today’s Project
I made the card on the right first. I thought the Wish die from Broadway Lights dies perfectly paired with the gifts pattern from the Bonanza Birthday Designer Series Paper (DSP). And, the thin Basic Black border around the DSP really makes it pop. This card came together very quickly because it’s really simple; the DSP and the die-cut do all the work. The bold sentiment is from the Broadway Birthday set.
After making the die-cut for the first card, I had a black rectangle with the word ‘Wish’ cut out of it. So, naturally, I made a card out of that piece, too.
Since I started with a scrap of Basic Black cardstock to make my die-cut, I first had to trim it to a size that would fit on the card. Then I backed it with a piece of the Birthday Bonanza DSP cut to the same size. Next, I had to figure out the card base and layers. I decided that the birthday candles pattern is perfect for this card. Then, I layered the DSP on a Bermuda Bay base and layered that on my Coastal Cabana card base. Finally, I used the same sentiment from the Broadway Birthday stamp set as for the first card.
Which card do you like better? I think my favorite is the first one. But, I do like the second one, too.
Today’s Color PalETTE
Although both cards use a similar color palette, there is one difference. So, I’ll show you both of them.

Make the Inside Pretty
For the first card, I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink. I then stamped gifts with bows across the bottom alternating between the tall skinny one with the square one using Bermuda Bay, Terracotta Tile, and Tuxedo Black ink.
For the second card, I used the sentiment from the Birthday Buddies stamp set and stamped it using Bermuda Bay ink. Then I trimmed a row of candles from the DSP and attached it to the bottom of the inside Whisper White layer.
Don’T Forget the Envelope
For the first card, I decorated both the front and back. On the front, I stamped the tall, skinny present using Bermuda Bay ink and the bow using Tuxedo Black ink. I used the same DSP on the envelope flap. Take a look at the front.
And here’s the back.
For the second, card, I only decorated the flap using the DSP. I could have stamped the candle image on the front, but that didn’t occur to me until I started writing this post!
Finally, I’ll leave you with one last look at the cards and envelopes. If you’d like to make these cards, the instructions are below. And, at the end of the post, you can find a list of the supplies I used. Clicking on any item will take you to my online store where you can purchase them.
I hope you enjoyed today’s cards. If you don’t yet have a demonstrator, I’d love to be yours. If you ever have any questions or need a catalog, please feel free to comment or email me. And, don’t forget to Pin this post so you can find it again!
