For today’s post, I’m showing 3 quick and easy cards using Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper and Golden Garden overlays. It’s that time of year when the new Annual Catalog will go live and the January – June mini-catalog will get pushed aside, although it’s available until the end of June. So, I wanted to get a few cards made to have on hand. With Fine Art Floral DSP, the cards practically make themselves! Take a look at one of them.
Can you see the gold overlay of the Golden Garden? It was made to go with the DSP! And it makes gorgeous cards. Take a look at another one.
The tricky part of these cards is to attach the clear acetate to the DSP. To do it, put some glue in an embellishment container, add some water, and then using a sponge, put it on the acetate. Finally, attach it to the DSP. Let’s look at another example.
These cards are so shiny and sparkly that I struggled to get good pictures.
Today’s Color Palette
The card bases were Petal Pink. Both the DSP and the Basic White inside the card were framed by Merry Merlot, using a 1/16″ frame.
DEcorate the Inside
After cutting the DSP and overlay at 4″ X 5 1/4″, I had a 4″ X 1 1/2″ piece left. So I cut it into two 4″ X 3/4″ which I used to decorate the inside of the cards.
The sentiments from the Happy Thoughts stamp set were perfect for these cards. I always appreciate a sentiment only stamp set with sentiments for both the inside and card front.
Don’t Forget the Envelope
I decorated the envelopes with another strip of the Fine Art Floral DSP which was glued to the flag and then trimmed to fit.
The gold metallic pearls were the perfect accent for the sentiments. I didn’t want anything shiny to compete with the shine of the overlay. Finally, I used the Ornate Layers and Painted Labels dies to frame the sentiment which were stamped using Merry Merlot ink.
If you’d like to try to recreate this card, you can find a list of the products I used at the end of this post. Need a demonstrator or a catalog? Drop me a line and I’ll put one in the mail.
