Crafty Collaborations is hopping again today and our theme is a sketch challenge! I love sketch challenges because they set a structure for the card. Plus, I’m giving you a sneak peek of a new limited-time collection called Fitting Florets. This sketch allows me to show off the DSP, stamps and dies.
The sketch
First, let’s look at the sketch. Some strips of DSP with a circular focal point. This is a simple sketch with a lot of possibilities. As you’ll see below, I interpreted it in a bit of a different way.
Today’s Project – Fitting Florets
I had a lot of leftover DSP from prepping a project for my in-person class. And the leftovers were the perfect size to make a set of note cards that show off the DSP, stamps, and dies available in the Fitting Florets Collection.
You’ll notice that I loosely follow the sketch. How did I change it? Well, first, I made note cards with a landscape orientation. And second, I used an oval instead of a circle. But, I do have the strips of paper from the sketch. I think my interpretation is close enough. Remember, the sketch is a starting point and as long as you can see the elements, then you’ve followed the sketch.
Stop back on Thursday to see the card from my in-person class. It’s a center window pop-up card that’s a very versatile fun fold that can be used for a lot of different looks.
Fitting Florets Collection
This collection is gorgeous. The DSP is so pretty with both floral and graphic patterns It includes two stamp sets – one with floral images and fabulous sentiments and the other is a sentiment-only set The dies cut the images from the stamps plus have additional frame dies. Plus there are some beautiful gold swirls to add a bit of bling. The stamp sets and dies will be available in the January – June Mini Catalog. The DSP and embellishments are available until January 4 or while supplies last. You don’t want to miss this so get ready to order on November 4th!
today’s Color Palette
I took the color palette directly from the DSP except I substituted Daffodil Delight for Crushed Curry because I was coloring with blends and Crushed Curry isn’t available in the blends.
Note Card #1 – Fitting Florets
This first card uses Blushing Bride, Night of Navy, and Balmy Blue. I used the ‘For a Special Person on a Special Day’ sentiment. The flower on the envelope was duplicated on the inside.
Note Card #2 – Fitting Florets
As you’ll see, these note cards are all a variation of a theme because they follow the sketch. I love the way the Night of Navy makes the Daffodil Delight just pop. The inside has the ‘Just a Little Reminder That You Are Loved’ sentiment and echoes the flower from the envelope.
Note Card #3 – Fitting Florets
Polished Pink really pops on this card. And I love the way the Brushed Brass Butterflies flit around the flowers. They are the perfect embellishments for the flowers on these note cards.
Note Card #4 – Fitting Florets
This piece of DSP feels so serene. The Evening Evergreen background with the Soft Succulent leaves and the white pops of buds makes me want to spend some time in nature But, with winter coming, I’ll have to wait a while for green nature.
Note Card #5 – Fitting Florets
The final note card uses Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, and Polished Pink. I’m drawn to this color combo. It’s bright and fresh and looks great in this graphic DSP.
I hope my note card set inspires you to create your own using whatever supplies you have on hand! But, now it’s time to see some more inspiration from around the world. So, grab a beverage, sit back and relax, and enjoy the hop!
You’re going to love this new collection. Although the stamp set and dies will be in the January – June Mini Catalog, the gorgeous DSP is available for a limited time or while supplies last. And I don’t think it’s going to last long!
