It’s another Technique Tuesday presented by the demos of Crafty Collaborations. Today’s theme is Designer Series Paper (DSP). I’m going to show you a fun, simple card that really shows off one of the patterns from the Fresh as a Daisy DSP. Let’s take a look.
Today’s Project – Fresh as a Daisy
This card is much simpler than it looks, especially if you know the measurements. The card is a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock. Then DSP is added to the front, create the insert, then embellish with Iridescent Rhinestones and some Moody Mauve Textured Ribbon.
ToDay’s Project Without Insert – Fresh as a Daisy DSP
Attached to the card base is a 5 1/2″ x 4″ piece of DSP that is on the reverse side of the floral image on the paper. Then a piece of Basic White is cut at 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and then cut on the diagonal. Add some liquid glue to the white margin on the lower left corner and attach the Basic White triangle.
Then take a piece of 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ DSP that matches the card base and cut it on the diagonal and attach it to the Basic White triangle.
Finally, cut a daisy using the Cheerful Daisies die and use liquid glue in the center to attach it to the DSP.
Once the project is assembled add a few Iridescent Rhinestones to finish it off.
Today’s Project Insert – Fresh As a Daisy DSP
The insert is the star of this card. And, it’s made with a single piece of DSP that is the reverse side of the DSP on the card base. It’s made by taking a piece of 3″ x 8″ DSP and scoring it at 4″. Attach it to a piece of 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ Thick Basic White cardstock.
Stamp the sentiment using Moody Mauve ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock and die-cut it with the die from the Cheerful Daisies Dies. Before attaching the sentiment to the front with dimensionals add a 2″ piece of Moody Mauve Textured ribbon underneath the sentiment.
Today’s Project Insert Inside
To make the inside of the insert, add a piece of 2 7/8″ x 3 7/8″ Basic White cardstock.
Fresh as a Daisy DSP
This DSP is so gorgeous! The first page has a number of images that can be cut into focal images on a card. Many of my friends have done that and the cards are so easy! My card was inspired by a card I received made with the daisies on blue with a Copper Clay reverse side. For my card I used my favorite pattern the white daisies on a Moody Mauve background and Wild Wheat leaves.
Today’s Color Palette
The color palette on this one was simple – it came right from the DSP which features two new colors – Moody Mauve and Wild Wheat.
Don’t forget the Envelope
After building the card, I had a scrap of cardstock left which was perfect for the envelope!
I hope my card inspires you to try making this card with your favorite DSP. Now it’s time to see the rest of the hop. So, grab a beverage, sit back and relax, and enjoy the hop!
