Today I’m hopping with Stamping with Friends. We’re a group of demonstrators worldwide who hop twice a month on the first and third Saturdays of the month. The hops on the first Saturday feature techniques while the hops on the third Saturday feature themes. Today’s theme is anything goes. I chose a fun fold using Friendly Gnomes.
Today’s Project – Friendly Gnomes
I received a swap using this fun fold and I knew I had to CASE it but use the Friendly Gnomes. So, the fold and the colors are from the swap but The Friendly Gnomes are from my brain.
This image shows the detail for the Balmy Blue layer. I colored it using Sweet Sorbet, Balmy Blue, Gray Granite, Ivory, and Mint Macaroon Blends. This also shows the flowers from the Playing in the Rain bundle another one of my favorite bundles.
The image above shows the details of the Petal Pink layer. after stamping her in Momento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored her with the Sweet Sorbet, Daffodil Delight, Ivory, and Balmy Blue Blends. Isn’t she just the cutest gnome?
For this image showing the Mint Macaron layer, I colored with Mint Macaron, Ivory, Sweet Sorbet, and Balmy Blue blends.
And now we’re at the last layer using Sweet Sorbet. The birthday cake was colored using the same colors as the dwarves – Sweet Sorbet, Balmy Blue, Mint Macaron, PetalPink, and So Saffron.
Here’s what the card looks like when completely folded. As you can see, it will fit in a standard envelope. I didn’t use dimensionals on the card because it was bulky enough and I didn’t want to add to it!
You’ll notice there aren’t any embelishment on the card. That’s because there really isn’t anywher to put them while still keeping the close card clean. But…. there’s sure room for Wink of Stella. I colored everything with it!
This final image shows how the card looks from the top. I’m sure whoever gets this card will display it because it’s so stinking cute!
Today’s Color Palette
Don’t Forget the Envelope – Friendly Gnomes
The Country Gingham DSP has four colors in it – Balmy Blue, Petal Pink, Mint Macaron, and Sweet Sorbet. This fun fold has 4 panels to decorate making them a match made in heaven for this card making picking a color palette easy peasy.
Time to Hop
I hope you enjoyed today’s fun fold. It looks difficult but it’s really fairly easy. You should try it! Now it’s time to see what the other friends have in store for you. So, grab a beverage, sit back and relax, and enjoy the hop!
Fabulous fold and card!
