Today’s card uses the Hand-Penned Suite to make a card for a 101-year-old neighbor who broke her hip. She is such a plucky, feisty woman and still lived at home by herself until her fall. She’s currently in rehab and we all hope to see her out walking soon!
The Hand-Penned Suite makes it easy to whip up a quick yet beautiful card. The various colors in the Designer Series Paper (DSP) make it easy to a color scheme. And the DSP does a lot of the heavy lifting. Take a look.
tOday’s Project
This card came together quickly. A piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock for the base, pieces of Pale Papaya and Mint Macaron for accent layers, the image stamped, quickly colored with blends, die-cut, and attached to the front with dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped using Pale Papaya ink on Basic White and mounted on a Pale Papaya layer that had been cut using the edge piece in the Penned Flowers dies. A few Genial Gems from the Suite finished off the card front.
Today’s Color Palette
As I mentioned above, the colors were pulled directly from the DSP. Easy peasy!
Make the Inside Pretty
For the inside, I stamped the other floral image from the Hand-Penned stamp set and quickly colored it with blends in the color palette.
Don’t Forget the Envelope
For the envelope, I did my usual treatment – a piece of the DSP on the envelope flap.
I know my neighbor is going to appreciate this card. I hope it cheers her up!
