I love this new Hey Birthday Chick set. Such fun images.! The other day, I posted about this new set here https://www.stampwithcandi.com/hey-chick-is-back-yay. It’s a brand new set with more chick images and coordinating dies.
Today’s Project
This chick just cracks me up as she leans over to sniff at her birthday cupcake! I love the dots in the background from the Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper. It’s such a fun background on a fun card.
Can you see how the whole focal image is popped up? That’s because I used the adhesive foam sheets instead of using dimensional. After stamping and coloring the image. Mount it on the foam sheets and then die-cut it. Now, you have one big sticker. Basic White and Calypso Coral shapes cut with the Layering Oval dies made the perfect perch for the birthday girl.
I used blends in the yellows and oranges to color the chicken and blues for the cupcake. The sentiment was stamped using Night of Navy ink and mounted on the die cut from the Birthday Chick Dies.
ToDay’s Color Palette
Today’s color palette comes directly from the DSP. Whenever I’m stumped about which colors to use, I just look through the Stampin’ Up! DSP. It never fails to help me pick colors that will coordinate beautifully!
Make the INside Pretty
First, I just have to say, I love, love, love this sentiment for my friends of a ‘certain age’! I stamped it in Night of Navy ink. Then I stamped the confetti from the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set down the side in Calypso Coral ink.
Don’t Forget the Envelope
I loved the background paper so much, that I glued it to the envelope flap and then trimmed it to fit. I almost always decorate my envelopes, even when I don’t share them. It’s part of the whole package. It’s not just about the card!
Here’s one more look at the card.
