A few years ago, during Sale-a-Bration, there was this adorable set called Hey, Chick, featuring cute chickens. And now, those chickens are back and they have dies to match!
Hey Chick Stamp Set
I just love the chick with the crazy hair and the little eg with a crack in it. So cute. So, as I already mentioned, not only is the stamp set back but there are dies.
Chick Dies
Aren’t they just so cute! Not only do they cut out the chicks, but there are all kinds of other fun elements like the corn stalks with corn, the little eggs, the chicken wire, the nuggets of chicken feed, the coop, and the sign. So much fun to play with.
Hey Birthday Chick Stamp Set
And, If you love Hey, Chick, you’re also going to love Hey, Birthday Chick! This set is almost as fun as Hey, Chick. Take a look.
I really don’t know which image I like best – the crazy haired chick eating the cupcake, the big, fat chick with a balloon tied to her tail feathers, or the little guy with the mask and hat! I also love, love, love the sentiments. They’re great for any birthday card, even without the chicks! Did I mention that they also come with dies? Yup, they do. Take a look.
Birthday Chick Dies
That picket fence is so cute. And look at the chicken scratches. And the ‘Happy Birthday’ can be used on any birthday card as can the garland. Just so much cuteness!
Card Samples
As always, Stampin’ Up! has some samples to share. Here are a couple of my favorites.
The one in the upper left corner uses the Tailored Tag punch on some DSP to create a fun layout. The sentiment is embossed with white embossing powder and heat set with the heat tool.
The card on the bottom left uses the chicken coop, the stump, and some eggs from the dies to set a fun birthday scene!
However, the one on the right is my favorite! It just screams fun birthday!. I love the banners and the colors and the fun texture. I’m thinking about recreating it as a shaker card!
Here are a couple of more samples.
These two cards show how tone on tone can be used to add texture to a card and make the image pop. The card on the left has some bright Magenta Madness pops of color with the balloon and the ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment. They really pop next to the Just Jade strips and garland on the card base. And isn’t the birthday chick colored divinely? The Bumblebee-colored chicken just pops out at you!
Similarly, on the card on the right, the tone on tone Misty Moonlight strips and chicken wire make the Bumblebee colored chicken really take center stage. With the dies, these cards are very easy to make. Just stamp the chickens with Momento Tuxedo Black ink. Color with the Bumblebee Blends. Then cut them out with the dies and pop them on the card front.
More Samples
Let’s look at a few more samples.
How cute is this gift tag on a mini paper pumpkin box? The box is wrapped in paper from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. The tag was made using Fluid 100 water color paper, the water painters and a variety of colors. Usually water colors are more pale and washed out, but these colors are so vibrant that don’t even look like water colors.
This a very simple card that packs a lot of punch! Stamp the eggs using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. Then color the legs with Pumpkin Pie Stamp n Write marker before cutting with the dies. Make a card base with Calypso coral and layer on a panel of striped paper from Playing with Patterns DSP. Cut a white panel with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. If you don’t have that die set there are others such a Stitch Rectangles that would work as well. Attach the eggs with dimensonals. Stamp the sentiment using Bermuda Bay ink on Pool Party cardstock. Then cut up the words for a fun look.
