I’m here today with a quick post to show off the 2023-2025 In Colors for a Crafty Challenge. Keep reading for the details.
The Challenge – In Colors
Cardmakers love challenges as it stretches our creativity. I love these dice challenges because trying to fit all the elements is fun. Alas, I only managed four out of five.
In Color Challenges are perfect for this time of year as Stampin’ Up! introduces new In Colors on May 1. Of course, demonstrators get them a month early to begin preparing samples. It’s one of my favorite perks of being a demonstrator.
Today’s Project – In Colors
Please excuse the slant on this image. I’m a little short of time and so, couldn’t get it quite right. However, it does show the colors and the cards. From top to bottom, the colors are Moody Mauve, Pebbled Path, Boho Blue, Classy Copper, and Wild Wheat. I’ve used Pebbled Path and Boho Blue a lot in other samples that I’ll be sharing in the next weeks. But overall, I like them all. They are more muted than last year’s In Colors but we needed that in our color lineup.
A closer Look
My purpose in making these 3 x 3 cards was more than the challenge. I wanted to share the new DSP, Colors, and Gems Each card starts with a base of Basic White followed by a layer of cardstock. In the example above the color is Boho Blue. The flower is from the new Cheerful Daisies bundle which will also be available on May 2.
I cut the daisy from one of the In Color DSPs, The daisy base is from the heart pattern and the inside detail is from the line pattern. A thin strip of DSP decorates the card front and is topped by a bow made from white time colored by a Blends.
Finally, I stamped the sentiment from Charming Sentiments in the In Color and die-cut it using the matching die from Sentimental Silhouette dies. I love these sentiment sets that have matching dies. Not only are they trendy but they give a different look to the sentiments.
A large 2023-2025 In Color Gems finishes off the daisy and two small ones add some bling to the card front.
I love these little cards. They were fun to make and I had fun playing with these new In Colors!
Make the Inside Pretty
Of course, I had to do something on the inside. So I added a thin strip of the opposite side of the DSP from the front so that you can see the heart pattern. This year’s In Color DSP has bold patterns so using them in small doses tones them down a bit.
I hope you’re as excited as I am about the new In Colors. Now let’s see how the others rolled the dice. So, grab a beverage, sit back and relax, and enjoy the hop!
