I’m back today sharing my July 2022 Paper Pumpkin alternatives. I missed the Friday blog hop for a very good reason. I was on a dream vacation – a 15-day cruise on the Baltic Sea and didn’t have my kit until last Wednesday when I was severely jet-lagged. So, I’m sharing my alternates with you today.
Today’s Project – July 22 Paper Pumpkin
Despite jet lag and recovering from Covid, I managed to design 8 alternatives to share with you. This was difficult because the kit itself was so cute. I loved the cards as is so that making alternatives was a challenge!
Paper Pumpkin July 2022 – Sending Good Thoughts
As I mentioned above, this kit is so cute. Just look at the cards it makes, 3 each of 3 designs. I love the one with the sea horse. And the ship in the bottle is so cute. Let’s take a look at what I did with the supplies from this kit plus a few dies, some extra cardstock, and some extra inks. A list of the supplies I used can be found at the end of this post.
Paper Pumpkin July 2022 – ALternate #1
Although the picture doesn’t show it, this is an interactive card. If you pull on the bottle it slides up you can see the rolled-up message image! The sentiment is from the Bottled Happiness stamp set and is a perfect fit for this card! The rest of the elements are from the kit. Isn’t that sea horse just so cute?
Paper Pumpkin July 2022 – Alternate #2
This card is similar to Alternate #, except that instead of the rolled-up message, I used the sea grass image. I also stamped the starfish image in Bermuda Bay on the card base to give a little more interest.
Paper Pumpkin July 2022 – Alternate #3
I made a masculine card by using some Basic Black and Basic Gray cardstock, plus the sentiment from the Bottled Happiness stamp set. The embellishments are Classic Matte Dots.
Paper Pumpkin July 2022 – Alternate #4
This is my least favorite alternate, but I still think it’s cute! I stamped the seagrass first. Then I cut two maks using the Stampin’ Up! Masking Paper. After placing the masks on two adjacent seagrasses, I stamped the starfish image using Fresh Feesiaink. This makes the starfish look like they are behind the seagrass.
Next, I stamped the sea horses using Poppy Parade ink. Then I added the sentiment stamped with Basic Gray ink.
Paper Pumpkin July 2022 – Alternate #5
I love this card. I used a layer from the kit as a layer for the card front here by cutting it and then matting it with Bermuda Bay. Then I stamped the starfish and shell from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set. This is another stamp set that pairs beautifully with this kit. It has matching dies which I used to cut the images. Finally, I used the Layering Circles dies to cut out the sentiment and the mat. The sentiment is also from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set. I finished off the card with Iridescent Pearls which looked like bubble of water to me.
Paper Pumpkin July 2022 – Alternate #6
Here is the first card that uses the ship image and it’s interactive just like Alternate #1. The ship is in a slit and can move back and forth. I also used a Pacific Point cardbase and a Basic White layer to step the card up a bit.
Paper Pumpkin July 2022 – Alternate #7
This card is similar to the previous one, and mostly uses elements from the kit. Like the previous one, it has a Pacific Point card base and a Basic White layer.
Paper Pumpkin July 2022 – Alternate #8
This is my favorite alternate! And, although it only uses elements from the kit it doesn’t look like the cards from the kit. I turned the striped layer from the card horizontally, added a spray of coral behind the sentiment. I added a sea horse to the sentiment and finished off the card with some Iridescent Rhinestones.
