Today’s Hop – June 2021 Paper Pumpkin – Expressions in INk
I’ve been a Paper Pumpkin subscriber since the beginning. And, I have to tell you, this kit is my favorite EVER! I love the colors, and the extra bits. I had to restrain my self from making the cards as designed! And, I did manage to make 9 alternatives. Here’s a look at what I did.
I have to confess, I did make one pretty much as per the instructions. Here it is.
Of course, I had to decorate the envelope by stamping it with the floral image using the included Bumblebee Stampin’ Spot. I also stamped the same image on the inside of the card.
June 2021 Paper Pumpkin – Expressions in Color Alternative #1
I’m not usually a fan of notecard-sized cards, but the ones in this kit just are so cute. For this one, I stamped the floral images using the included Evening Evergreen Stampin’ Spot all over the printed card front. I also stamped the larger image on the envelope and on the inside of the card. The embellishments from the kit give it just enough sparkle.
JUNE 2021 PAPER PUMPKIN – EXPRESSIONS IN COLOR ALTERNATIVE #2
This card is almost identically as designed. I changed it by using the Blending Brushes to ink the back of the ‘Thanks’ vellum piece. I think it helps make it pop! I’m not crazy about the way I stamped the sentiment, but after the 6th try, I just gave up and said this is good enough!
JUNE 2021 PAPER PUMPKIN – EXPRESSIONS IN COLOR ALTERNATIVE #3
This is one of my favorite alternatives, although it’s not my usual style. I love the color combinations! I used Polished Pink to stamp the greeting. It really gives it some punch! I used the Evening Evergreen 2021-2023 In Color Jewels to set off the sentiment. I also used Polished Pink ink stamped off to stamp the spray from Forever Fern on the envelope and inside.
JUNE 2021 PAPER PUMPKIN – EXPRESSIONS IN COLOR ALTERNATIVE #4
This is another favorite. I used the floral die from the Artistic dies. It just happens to be the same shape as the vellum in the kit! The shimmery vellum adds so much sparkle and contrasts well with the Evening Evergreen ribbon and sentiments. I used Pastel Pearls to embellish the sentiment, the center of the flower and the card front. I stamped the larger floral image from the set in Fresh Freesia ink on the envelope and on the inside of the card.
JUNE 2021 PAPER PUMPKIN – EXPRESSIONS IN COLOR ALTERNATIVE #5
I used the same die and Fresh Freesia shimmer vellum on this card. It doesn’t pop as much because the background is so busy. The sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set was stamped in Fresh Freesia and cut out with the Layering Circles days. I then used the Pastel Pearls to highlight it. Finally, Fresh Freesia ribbon and bow finished off the card front. I used some of the shimmery vellum to decorate the envelope flap.
JUNE 2021 PAPER PUMPKIN – EXPRESSIONS IN COLOR ALTERNATIVE #6
This is another favorite. These colors are my favorite color. In fact, if you could see inside my house, you’d notice that the drapes and the dining room chairs match the darker colors on this card. I used supplies from the kit for most of the card. I cut up one of the card bases from the kit to decorate the envelope and the inside of the card. Sponging the ‘Thanks’ vellum with Gorgeous Grape makes it really pop. I also stamped the (crooked) sentiment with the same color. Finally, I embellished it with more Pastel Pearls.
JUNE 2021 PAPER PUMPKIN – EXPRESSIONS IN COLOR ALTERNATIVE #7
This alternative is bright and happy. I colored the vellum floral image using Polished Pink ink and the blending brushes. When coloring on the back of the vellum, there is no need to stay in the lines! I also used the blending brushed and Evening Evergreen ink on the ‘Thanks’ vellum and the ‘For Everything’ sentiment. Polished Pink ribbon really pops on this card. The final embellishments were the In Color 2021-2023 Jewels. They sure are sparkly! For the inside and envelope, I cut the spray from the Forever Flourishing dies using one of the card fronts.
JUNE 2021 PAPER PUMPKIN – EXPRESSIONS IN COLOR ALTERNATIVE #8
This card is full of bright color! I embossed one of the Bumblebee card fronts using the Painted Texture embossing folder. The embossing adds so much texture! I colored the vellum using Gorgeous Grape ink and the blending brushes. The sentiment was also stamped using Gorgeous Grape ink and embellished with Gorgeous Grape Pastel Pearls. Gorgeous Grape ribbon and a bow finish it off.
JUNE 2021 PAPER PUMPKIN – EXPRESSIONS IN COLOR ALTERNATIVE #9
This card uses the back of one of the cards as its front. In hindsight, I should have embossed it for some texture. I colored the vellum with Evening Evergreen, Fresh Freesia, and Polished Pink Blends. I used the twine and sequins included in the kit for embellishments. For the envelope and inside, I used the floral element and leaves from the Artistically Inked stamp set on the envelope and inside of the card.
Now it’s time for some more collaborative fun. Grab a beverage, sit back and enjoy the hop! You should find some awesome ideas and inspiration as others share their projects made with the Waves of the Ocean suite.
