It’s time for another Share It Sunday Blog Hop with Crafty Collaborations a group of worldwide demonstrators who love to share projects with you to inspire you and help you be more creative. For my project, I’ve chosen the Lazy Days Bundle from the upcoming Annual Catalog which goes live on May 2. Let’s take a peek.
Today’s Project – Lazy Days
As soon as I saw the Lazy Days bundle, I knew I wanted to make this card! In my village, many people sit out on their porches in the evenings talking to the people walking by or inviting them up for a drink. In my case, my backyard is also a front yard because I live on a corner with a skinny pie-shaped lot. There is nowhere on my property that is private, and I’m ok with that. So, I sit out on my patio and talk to the passersby.
My block is famous in town for being very, very social. And, so we always welcome new neighbors with open arms. So the sentiment ‘Welcome to our Street’, is spot on. This bundle will never leave my stash!
One of the things I love about this bundle is that there are two types of dies. One type cuts out the images from the stamp set. The other is for building scenes like this one. To give some depth for the chairs, I cut out 6 and glued 3 together before attaching them to the card.
As you can see I used ink blending to create a background. Then I made a bunch of die cuts to construct the scene. From this view, can’t you just see a couple sitting on their porch chatting with the people walking by and drinking some lemonade?
Don’t Forget the Envelope – Lazy Days
I wasn’t sure how many of the baskets I would need so I stamped, colored, and die-cut a bunch and then started placing them along the fence. I had an extra so I put it on the envelope. These baskets remind me of baskets of hosta which are found frequently throughout the village.
I hope you enjoyed my card as much as I enjoyed making it. Will it inspire you to make something with this set? I hope so! Now it’s time for more inspiration as you hop around to see what the other Crafty Collaborators have in store. So, grab a beverage, sit back and relax, and enjoy the hop!
