Hi, Stampers! I’m glad you’re here. Today, I am doing a blog hop with Stamping With Friends, a group of demonstrators from all over the world. We’re featuring projects made from new products in the 2023 – 2024 annual catalog which went live on May 2. There are so many products I love in this catalog that it was hard to choose. However, there was one suite that I loved. I’ve seen similar Designer Series Paper (DSP) and wished I could have some from Stampin’ Up! My wish came true with the Les Shoppes DSP and the Let’s Go Shopping BUndle.
Today’s Project – Les Shoppes DSP
Isn’t this just the cutest card? It’s a variation of one found in the catalog. And you wouldn’t believe how easy it was to make! When I was a little girl, we used to play with paper dolls. And my friend and I would spend hours designing clothes and shops and houses for them. This DSP reminds me of that time.
Today’s Color Palette
Although there are many colors on my card, the standouts are the Night of Navy base, the Balmy Blue on the DSP background, and the Basic Black lamppost. I’ve been using a lot of blues lately because the color refresh gave us a lot of gorgeous blues to work with. However, my card sticks with two favorites, Night of Navy and Balmy Blue.
Let’s Go Shopping Bundle
This bundle is perfect for making scenes. The shop can be one story or two stories. It can be a bakery, a bookstore, or a cafe’. There’s a sign to ‘advertise’ the shop and a cute planter to welcome patrons.
The dies have a few that don’t cut out a stamped image. There’s the lamppost that I used in my card, a park bench, an awning, and some flowers.
I used the lamppost in my card to add to the street feel. the dies also cut out the planters from the DSP. After stamping the sign frame and sentiment with Night of Navy ink, I also used a die to cut them out. The dies are very versatile!
Background – Les Shoppes DSP
This pattern of the Les Shoppes DSP was perfect for a background. The images are light enough that they don’t compete with the focal images. And the light and dark spots give a sky-like feeling.
Les Shoppes DSP – Sidewalk
I’m not sure if the designers did this on purpose, but this pattern is perfect for laying down a sidewalk in front of the shops. It helps ground them so they don’t look like they’re floating on air.
Les ShopPes DSP – Shop Pattern #1
Check out this DSP. Isn’t it the cutest thing? There’s a bakery, a diner, and a candy store on this pattern. And since they are mostly straight lines, very easy to fussy cut! I used the bakery on my card. And the dies cut out the little sign.
Les Shoppes DSP – Shop Pattern #2
This pattern has a craft store, a clothing store, and an Asian restaurant. I used the craft store on my card (of course) but I cut it down to one story because otherwise it would have been too tall.
Les Shoppes – Shop Pattern #3
A bookstore, a florist, and a drug store round out the shop collection. What a cute downtown they’d make for a little village like mine. There are so many possibilities with this set. I can’t wait to try some more!
Make the Inside Pretty – Les Shoppes DSP
I used the Let’s Go Shopping dies to cut out the planter which I glued to the Basic White inside liner. I thought about putting it on a thin strip of the ‘sidewalk pattern’ but didn’t because I’m hoarding that pattern for more cards.
Don’t Forget the Envelope – Les Shoppes DSP
The envelope uses the same treatment as the inside. When using a die-cut on an envelope you must either hand-deliver it or make sure that all the edges are glued down. You don’t want it to get caught in the sorting machine and ruin your card!

This card is so much fun. I have the DSP but not the bundle. But I think my paper snips can probably get the job done. Thanks so much for sharing in the hop today.
