Today’s post is part of the May 2022 Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop with Crafty Collaborations. We’re a group of demonstrators from around the world who share what we do so you can be inspired! I have 9 alternatives to share today which I hope will inspire you!
Today’s Project – May 2022 Paper Pumpkin
As you can see there are a variety of approaches to my alternatives and some common themes! Let’s look at them one at a time.
May 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternate #1
For this alternate, I used one of the plain white card bases that are part of the kit and stamped the fun background stamp with Sweet Sorbet and Orchid Oasis. I cut apart all the envelopes to use them as DSP and cut the middle circle from it.
May 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternate #2
This alternate has a Starry Sky card base with the rest of the elements coming from the kit except for the bling Those are a sneak peek from the upcoming July – December mini catalog.
May 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternate #3
This alternate was an experiment using the Color Coach. I looked at the color combinations for Orchid Oasis and chose the one that used Old Olive and Mango Melody. Once I had my color scheme, I wanted to get some texture on the card. For that, I turned to the new Cloud embossing folder. The clouds are not too prominent and the area that isn’t a cloud has a wonderful texture to it.
May 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternate #4
For this alternate, I used elements from the kit but in a different way. The top part is from one of the Starry Sky pieces cut in half and then trimmed. After matting the ‘You’ with a Starry Sky Layering Circle, I added half the sentiment from ‘For You’. It was easy to stamp it on a piece of scrap Starry Sky and the mat it with another piece of Starry Sky.
May 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternate #5
This alternate was another experiment using the color coach. This time it’s Starry Sky, Mango Melody, and Cajun Craze. First, I stamped the background image in both Cajun Craze and Mango Melody to give it some interest. Then I trimmed the Starry Sky piece for the kit to get rid of the white and to have some space around it. Finally, after coloring the sentiment with my Cajun Craze blends, I popped it up on dimensional and attached it to the card front.
May 2020 Paper Pumpkin Alternate #6
Do you like the DSP on this card? It comes from the envelope liner. After matting the DSP with Basic Black, I colored the sentiment with the Tahitian Tide blends. Finally, I stamped the sentiment in Tahitian Tide ink and added some bling that was part of the kit.
May 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternate #7
This alternate is similar to the previous one except that I used Parakeet Party and Brushed Brass Butterflies. I love the way the thin black border makes the whole card pop!
May 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternate #8
This is another card that uses an envelope liner as DSP. Because Starry Sky is a darker color, the black frame doesn’t pop as much, but it still adds interest to the card. Again I used the Brush Brass Butterflies as the bling on this card.
May 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternate #9
This alternate is very similar to Alternate #6. It uses the envelope liner DSP and blends to color the large sentiment, and a black frame to make the Sweet Sorbet pop. Did you notice the stray dimensional back by the ‘Y’? Those things are everywhere in my house!
I hope you enjoyed my alternatives and that they inspire you to create something fun with this month’s Paper Pumpkin. And now it’s time to see what the others have created to inspire you. So, grab a beverage and enjoy the rest of the hop!
