Today’s Hop: A CrafTY Challenge – Paper Pumpkin Alternatives
Today the Crafty Collaborations Team is bringing you alternative Paper Pumpkin projects.
This month I made 8 alternative Paper Pumpkin Projects! At first glance, I did not like this month’s kit. The colors were in my wheelhouse, but the images and stamp set were a challenge. And, then, I made the first card and the ideas started flowing! Here’s a picture of all 8.
Alternative #1
For this first alternative, I stamped the two sentiments using the included Stampin’ Spot of Night of Navy. I layered the red strip to the left of the striped element. I attached the sentiment with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The included dots added just additional interest.
Alternative #2
When I first saw the baseballs, I though “Shaker Card!!!!”. I love to make shaker cards. For this one, I used the layer circles to cut out a frame of Night of Navy, a window sheet, and because the ball was a little smaller then the circle, another circle of Night of Navy. I used the Ice Cream Corner sprinkles from the January-June mini catalog.
Alternative #3
Do you like how I used the bold sentiment from the stamp set to make the background for this card. I used Real red to stamp the sentiment on one of the included baseballs. A twine bow finishes the card.
Alternative #4
Both of my grandfather’s have passed on and both were a big influence in my life, especially in spring when I’m working on my gardens. They were both big gardener’s, one did flowers the other did vegetables. I do both. Anyway, I made this card thinking about them. Adding the additional paper really tones down those bold stripes!
Alternative #5
The element around the sentiment comes from the previous card. I cut a circle out of the bold striped card base to create the backing for the sentiment in this card. And, since the previous card used layers, those layers covered up the hole!
Alternative #6
This card just used the elements from the kit but with a different layout. And it came together in a snap because there is no stamping!
Alternative #7
This card also features the elements from the kit with no stamping. The only twist is that i colored the twine by running it over the Stampin’ Spot!
Alternative #8
This card just came together using the items from the kit and changing the layout.
You can find a list of all the extra supplies I used on this card at the end of this post!
Now it’s time for some more collaborative fun. Grab a beverage, sit back and enjoy the hop! You should find some awesome ideas and inspiration as others share their projects made with the Waves of the Ocean suite.
