For my second card for the Crafty Collaborations Virtual swap, I chose to use a fun technique with Embossing Paste in the Brick & Mortar embossing folder and the Pansy Patch stamp set. The complete recipe can be found in a free PDF created by all of the participants in the Virtual Swap. That’s over 60 different projects! Free to you with a $50 purchase in my online store using the host code on the right. Check out the thumbnails for these projects! Aren’t they fabulous???
Today’s Project
To create the brick wall, I first put some embossing paste on a clear block. Then I added a tiny bit of Evening Evergreen re-inker to the embossing paste and mixed well. Once mixed, I applied the colored paste to the Brick & Mortar embossing folder and added my Basic White paper. Finally, I ran the folder through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine. Yes, it dripped out and was a little messy, but WOW what a cool effect. I’m going to try it again with a more earthy custom color. I wonder if I can make it match my house?
Today’s Color Palette
I can see that I’m going to finally start using Soft Sea Foam since it pairs so nicely with both Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent. And, Blackberry Bliss and Fresh Freesia are made for each other!
Make the Inside Pretty
For the inside, I used a strip of Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper (DSP) across the bottom of a layer of Soft Seafoam mounted on a layer of Evening Evergreen. Decorating the inside of the card makes it just that more special.
Don’t Forget the Envelope
Again, decorating the envelope goes that extra bit and lets the recipient know there’s something special inside. For this card, I cut a piece of the same DSP used on the card front to decorate the outside envelop flap.
Those cute bumblebee are the perfect embellishment for the front of the card. I know the bees sure like my pansies!
