Today the global demonstrators from Crafty Collaborations are hopping to inspire you and each other to make alternate projects from the Paper Pumpkin November 2022 – From the North Pole. This kit is meant to be made into tags. And the tags are very cute. However, I have customers who don’t need or want tags. So, I focused on making cards to inspire those who don’t want tags.
Today’s Projects – Paper Pumpkin November 2022
Today’s Color Palette
One of the things I like is how Stampin’ Up! lets you know what the coordinating colors are for each month’s Paper Pumpkin. I added a few colors like Real Red and Starry Sky. The rest are taken from Stampin’ Up!’s suggested colors.
Paper Pumpkin November 2022 – From the North Pole
This month’s kit is all about gift tags. And very cute tags they are! I love the Santa’s hat with the Ho Ho Ho. And of course, there are Candy Canes! I have to admit I’m not a fan of the deer. But that may be because at my former house they ate weekly from my Hosta Buffet. Five or six of them would stand at the edge of my garden and walk down the path eating every plant in sight. Good thing hostas are hardy and would mostly regrow!
Paper Pumpkin November 2022 – Kit Contents
Lots of goodies in this kit, especially the glimmer paper. Who doesn’t like a little sparkle in their projects??? And as you’ll see in my projects, I used up a lot of the glimmer including the negative images.
Paper Pumpkin November 2022 – Alternate #1
For this alternative, I cut the striped tags into 1 7/8″ squares and matted them on 2″ Sweet Sorbet cardstock. After mounting them on the card front using dimensionals, I stamped the Joy sentiment from the included stamp set in the white spaces. I finished the card off with a Flat Jingle Bell topped with a bow using the Sweet Sorbet Baker’s Twine.
For the envelope, I stamped the sentiment 3 times on the left side. And, I just noticed the line. Oops!
Paper Pumpkin November 2022 – Alternate #2
Alternate #2 is similar to #1 with a different tag cut into squares. After adding the Santa hats on the card front, I colored them with Wink of Stella and added Snowfall Accents Puff Paint for some dimension. Since the hats were Cherry Cobbler, I wanted the twine to be Cherry Cobbler, too So I colored some Basic White Baker’s Twine with a Cherry Cobbler Blend.
For the envelope, I stamped the Ho Ho Ho sentiment on the left side of the envelope with Cherry Cobbler ink. Although, I must confess it looks more like Real Red or Sweet Sorbet in the picture.
Paper Pumpkin November 2022 – Alternate #3
The kit includes some snowflake die cuts which I use in Alternate #5. For this card, I used the negative as a stencil with a dauber and some Whisper White craft ink. I love the way Whisper White looks on Crumb Cake! I put a Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels in the center of each ‘snowflake’. The heat-embossed sentiment is from the Joyful Flurries stamp set. The ribbon is the soon-to-retire Iridescent Trim. Since the trim is so bulky, I used a piece of Real Red cardstock to act as an anchor for the bow.
I used a retired Crumb Cake envelope for this card and stenciled 3 snowflakes on the left side.
Paper Pumpkin November 2022 – Alternate #4
This alternate is a variation of the previous one except I used Versamark ink and heat-embossed the snowflakes. Which do you like better – the sponged version or the heat-embossed version? I like them both and can’t pick a favorite!
Paper Pumpkin November 2022 – Alternate #5
This alternate uses the snowflakes from the kit. I embossed the larger Starry Sky panel with the Wintry 3D embossing folder. Since the folder is smaller than the panel, I had to run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine twice taking care to line it up properly for the second run-through. I used the same folder on the envelope flap. An Iridescent Rhinestone on each snowflake adds some sparkle to the card.
Paper Pumpkin November 2022 – Alternate #6
I had fun with this alternate. when I saw the long thin tag with the loop and the large circle, I thought Christmas ornament. So that’s what I made! I trimmed down the piece and glued it to the circle. Then I stamped the JOY sentiment from the kit using Sweet Sorbet ink in the circle.
Before embossing the front panel, I inked up the embossing folder with Sweet Sorbet ink, added the panel, and sent it through my die-cutting machine. Isn’t the result striking? I mounted it on a Shaded Spruce card base. To bling up the sentiment, I cut a thin strip of glimmer paper from one of the tags. The final bling is some Rhinestone Basic Jewels colored with the blunt end of a Shaded Spruce Blend.
For the envelope, I stamped the JOY sentiment on the envelope flap using Sweet Sorbet ink.
Paper Pumpkin November 2022 -Alternate #7
I think this is one of my favorites because well Candy Canes. I love the way they look, but not the way they taste which is a long story. So for this card, I added them to a Basic White panel using mini-dimensionals and then stamped the Ho Ho Ho sentiment. To get a single HO, you can either cut the sentiment into pieces or use a mask. I chose to cut up the sentiment as it’s easy to line up again using a Stamparatus.
Paper Pumpkin November 2022 – Alternate #8
This alternative uses the negative space from the Mint Macaron snowflakes that are included in the kit. I lined two of them up together to create the focal image. For the sentiment, I stamped the Merry Christmas from the included stamp set and then mounted it on 4 stacked pieces of Basic White. After fussy cutting it, I added it to the center of the focal image.
The Basic White panel embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder adds some dimension and texture to the card. Finally, I cut some snowflakes using the small snowflake from the Chic dies and a glimmer tag to embellish the envelope.
Paper Pumpkin November 2022 – Alternate #9
For this alternative, I used the glimmer snowflakes that were included in the kit. For the focal image, I added the snowflake to the large circle die cut from the kit and added the die cut to a glimmer tag using dimensionals. I covered the hole in the tag with a Matte Black Dot.
For the sentiment, I cut thin strips of the glimmer paper from the edges of the negatives used in Alternate #8.
Paper Pumpkin November 2022 – Alternate #10
For my last alternate, I started with a Shaded Spruce base and topped it with a Mint Macaron panel that was embossed with the Wintry 3D embossing folder. I made an ornament out of one of the glimmer snowflakes, a large die-cut circle, and the accent die-cut from the kit. For some bling, I colored Rhinestones with a Shaded Spruce blend.
I hope you enjoyed my alternates for Paper Pumpkin 2022 and that they inspire you to look at the elements of the kit in a different way. Now it’s time to see what the others have in store for you. So grab a beverage, sit back and relax, and enjoy the hop!
