Today Crafty Collaborations is showcasing the new limited time Fitting Florets collection. Although the Framed Florets bundle which is part of the collection is in the new January – July mini catalog, the DSP, the Framed & Festive stamp set, and the Gold Swirl embellishments are only available until January 4th or while supplies last. I wanted to show off one of the patterns of the DSP so I created a Popup Window card using the Fitting Florets DSP.
Today’s Project – Popup Window Card
I have seen many versions of this card on the internet and couldn’t wait to try it. Tami White did a whole series of cards based on this fold. I CASED mine from Lisa Curcio who has a great video on how to make it. My card is also part of the Crafty Collaborations November Tutorial which is free with $50 order. Not only will you get step-by-step instructions on how to make this gorgeous card, you’ll also get step-by-step instructions on 30 more cards! You can’t beat that!
Today’s Color Palette
My color palette came right from the DSP. I loved the combo of Night of Navy, Balmy Blue with a pop of Polished Pink in the DSP design I chose. It’s so bright and cheery and almost summery. And, it was a nice change from the fall/winter/Christmas cards I’ve been making lately.
Fitting Florets DSP
Here’s a look at the DSP. I like that one side is floral and the other is graphic. If you’d like to see more of it check out my post here where I made a set of notecards using many of the patterns in this DSP. I have to confess, I like this DSP so much that I’ve used every bit of it. That does not happen often!
Framed Florets Bundle
As you know, I’ve never met a flower I don’t like and this stamp set and dies have beautiful flower and leaf images with dies to match. Did you notice those frames? Just gorgeous with texture and peekaboo! They are open-line images so can easily be colored using any of Stampin’ Up!’s coloring tools. I used blends, but they could just as easily be watercolored, colored with pastels, blender pens with ink, or watercolor pencils.
Framed & Festive Stamp Set
The Framed & Festive stamp set has Christmas sentiments that fit nicely into the Framed Florets dies. Need to make a few quick Christmas cards? Take your favorite Christmas DSP, put it on a card base, stamp the sentiment from the Framed & Festive stamp set in a coordinating color, cut it out with the die and you’re done. Or use your Stamparatus to stamp Falalala down the side of a card. Easy peasy!
Popup Window Card – Back
Some versions of this card have a small card glued to the back. In this version, there is just a panel mounted to the back with a sentiment and a leaf detail with plenty of room to write a personal message!
Don’t forget the Envelope – Popup Window Card
For the envelope, I stamped the same detail as on the back using Momento Tuxedo Black in and then colored using a light Night of Navy blend.
I hope my card inspires you to take a look at the Fitting Florets collection. The DSP is so pretty as are the stamped images. Now it’s time to check out some more inspiration from the other Crafty Collaborators. So, grab a beverage, sit back and relax, and enjoy the hop!
