Crafty Collaborations
Crafty Collaborations is composed of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in multiple collaborative projects including blog hops, like this one, tutorials, and swaps to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.
Today’s Project
I’m back today with another Pretty PillowBox project. A few days ago, I blogged about another project using the Pretty Pillowbox die from Stampin’ Up!. You can see that project here.
Next Sunday, I’m hosting a Holiday Party for a local civic group that I”m a member of. I thought it would be a nice touch to have a little favor for all the attendees since we were unable to gather last year. So a few helpers and I spent a pleasant afternoon making these Pretty Pillowbox Favors and chatting.
These pillowboxes were pretty easy to make because we had an assembly line process which was possible because I have multiple die-cutting machines. After the first person cut the boxes with the die, the second person embossed them using the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder. After the boxes were cut, the Crumb Cake detail was cut out using the Pretty Pillowbox die using only the top part of the top. While the first two were cutting and embossing the pillowboxes, the third person cut out the tags and flowers using the dies from the Pretty Pillowbox dies.
Once the die cutting was done, one person stamped the greeting, while another added the flowers and rhinestones.
Finally, we did another assembly line to put them together. One person glued the Crumb Cake to the Real Red base. Then another person assembled the box by folding on the scored lines and gluing the sides shut. Tip: Use a bone folder to soften the fibers in the card stock to make it easier to create the boxes. Finally, the third person inserted two Ghirardelli Christmas Chocolates and tied the bow.
It took about 3 hours to make 35 of these Pretty Pillowbox favors. The attendees are going to be surprised and pleased to receive these cute little favors.
Now it’s time for some more collaborative fun. Grab a beverage, sit back and enjoy the hop! You should find some awesome ideas and inspiration as others share their projects made with the Waves of the Ocean suite.
If you’d like to try to recreate this card, you can find a list of the products I used at the end of this post. Need a demonstrator or a catalog? Drop me a line and I’ll put one in the mail. And, f you ever have any questions, please feel free to comment or email me. And, don’t forget to Pin this post so you can find it again!
