Stampin’ Up!’s SAB #2 is here! This newest addition to Stampin’ Up!’s promotions is so awesome! This year we have two reasons to Sale-A-Brate. And the products you can get free for a $50, $100, or $300 purchase are amazing. Today, I’m going to show you a card that uses two of the product available for free!
Crafty Collaborations
Crafty Collaborations is composed of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in multiple collaborative projects including blog hops, like this one, tutorials, and swaps to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.
Today’s Project
As I mentioned above, this card features two items from Sale-a-bration. The first is the gorgeous Beautifully Penned DSP. I just love black and white! But, what’s great about this DSP is that on one side it has the flowers from the Hand-Penned Suite in black and white. The other side is graphic patterns in black and white. Take a look.
I’m pretty sure you’ll see some cards from me with the flowers colored! This paper just begs to be colored.
The other featured product is the dies used to cut out the floral image from the Shaded Shadows stamp set in the Annual Catalog. I love when Stampin’ Up! coordinates products like this.
To color the image, I used Stampin’ Write markers in Real Red and Garden Green. I colored directly on the rubber. Then I spritzed it lightly. Next, I stamped it on Fluid 100 watercolor paper. Finally, I added Wink of Stella to give it some sparkle.
I used one of the frames from the Ornate Frames dies to mat the sentiment. I wanted it to stand out against the DSP but I didn’t want the traditional all-around mat. So I cut out the sentiment and a Real Red and Garden Green layer. I offset the layers when I attached them. I embellished with the Matte Black Dots. Those dots are becoming my favorite embellishments. I’m on my 3rd pack!
Today’s Color Palette
Make the Inside Pretty
I cut 3/4″ strips of the DSP and added them to the top and bottom of the inside. I then stamped the sentiment using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. The friend that is getting this card always goes above and beyond! I hope she likes my card.
Don’t Forget the envelope
For this envelope, I used one of my go-to treatments. I decorated the flap with the DSP by cutting a piece of DSP 6″ X 2 3/8″, gluing it to the flap, and then trimming to fit.
Here’s one last look at the card. I hope it inspires you and that you have as much fun with SAB #2 as I am!
Now, let’s dig into more collaborative fun. Grab a beverage, sit back and enjoy the hop! I hope you find some awesome ideas and inspiration from our projects for Sale-abration!.
If you’d like to try to recreate this card, you can find a list of the products I used at the end of this post. Need a demonstrator or a catalog? Drop me a line and I’ll put one in the mail. And, f you ever have any questions, please feel free to comment or email me. And, don’t forget to Pin this post so you can find it again!
