Today’s Hop – Kits Collection
Today the Crafty Collaborations Team is bringing you the new Kits Collection by Stampin’ Up! These kits are an easy and fun introduction to Stampin’ Up! and its products. They contain everything you need except scissors. They are simple to make and yet produce pretty cards. And the best part? You can gather with your friends to assemble the kit! A perfect night out! Plus, you can each bring a different kit to the party. No one size fits all with these kits! Maybe you want pretty cards and your friend wants packaging. Either way, we’ve got you covered!
Today’s Project
For my project, I chose the Sentimental Rose Kit. I’m always a sucker for a good flower. And, the flower in this kit is amazing. It’s of a type called Distinktive which means that it gives you realistic shading with just one color of ink! Plus, there are sentiments for most occasions which contributes to the versatility.
The kit comes in a sturdy brown box which can be repurposed.
The contents are packaged in plastic so now worries about the kit getting wet in transit!
The kit contains enough supplies to make 9 cards and a pretty box to put them in, making them giftable! Here’s a picture of the kit supplies.
And here’s a picture of the completed cards in the box.
Finally here’s an image of the assembled cards with the box.
Alternative Projects
After assembling the kit, you’ll have some supplies left. The rest of this post showcases some alternative projects and the supplies you would need to make them. They all require a pack of Note Cards & Envelopes.
Sentimental Rose alternative #1
This is the simplest alternative. Stamp the rose full strength with the Gray Granite ink, then stamp it on the envelope with the ink that’s still on it. That gives you two shades of gray which adds interest. Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment on the card front and add a bow with a glue dot. This project only needs the Note Cards & Envelopes.
SENTIMENTAL ROSE Alternative #2
For this alternative, I added Pearl Basic Jewels and the Calypso Coral Stampin’ blends. Again, I stamped the image full strength on the note cards and then half strength on the envelope. Then I colored 1 large and 2 medium pears with the blunt tip of the Dark Calypso Coral blends and placed them on the card.
SENTIMENTAL ROSE Alternative # 3
For this alternative, I added a Flirty Flamingo ink pad. I used the rose stamp to create a background by stamping it randomly on the front of the note card. To get the variation in color, I only re-inked my stamp after 3 images were stamped. I also used the dot stamp in Gray Granite to add some interest. Again, I used the Dark Calypso Coral blend to color the Basic Pearls to get the accents.
SENTIMENTAL ROSE Alternative #4 & #5
These two cards are very similar. I added a Mint Macaron Stampin’ Pad to introduce a new color. I stamped the rose with Flirty Flamingo and the leaves with Mint Macaron. On the top card, I accented with the Basic Pearls colored by the Dark Calypso blend. And, on the bottom card, I accented with the left over ribbon.
Sentimental Rose Alternative #6
For this one, I used a tissue to rub some Flirty Flamingo and Mint Macaron ink on the front of the note cards so that they looked like the layers in the kit. Then I stamped the images with Gray Granite. Finally, I topped it off with some colored pearls.
