My daughter’s inlaws celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this summer. Today, I’m going to share with you the card I made for them using the Simply Elegant Suite. Plus, today is another Crafty Collaborations blog hop!
Crafty Collaborations
Crafty Collaborations is composed of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world. Each month we participate in multiple collaborative projects including blog hops, like this one, tutorials, and swaps to inspire all of us in our passion for crafting. Our goal is to create, share, and inspire every crafter to keep our creative energy flowing.
Today’s Project
This card was inspired by Susan Levasseur at https://wownolacreations.com/. I’ve loved her work for a very long time. The card starts with a Very Vanilla base. The next layer was cut from a piece of gold foil using the Scalloped and Contour dies. On top of that, is a piece cut from the GORGEOUS Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series paper. This paper is full of metallic accents and elegant prints.
I cut a few flowers and accents using the free with $100 purchase Summer Shadow Dies. These coordinate with the Summer Shadows stamp set in the Annual Catalog. Then, I punched a panel using the Elegant Tag punch and gold foil paper. Finally, I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Very Vanilla and cut it using a die.
To assemble the card, I attached the punched image to the DSP using liquid glue. Next, the sentiment was attached. Finally, I added the Summer Shadows flowers.
To embellish the card, attached Opal Rounds to the center of the flowers and a bow of Black Organdy Glittered ribbon.
Here’s a look at the detail on the card. I just love how it turned out! And, so did the recipients.
Make the Inside PRetty
For the inside, more of the Summer Shadows die cuts were used. The difference is that this one is gold and black and the one on the front is black on gold. I didn’t add an Opal Round to the flower because it would have made it too bulky!
Don’t Forget The Envelope
The envelope also uses a die-cut from the Summer Shadows Dies.
Now it’s time for some more collaborative fun. Grab a beverage, sit back and enjoy the hop! You should find some awesome ideas and inspiration as others share their projects made with the Waves of the Ocean suite.
If you’d like to try to recreate this card, you can find a list of the products I used at the end of this post. Need a demonstrator or a catalog? Drop me a line and I’ll put one in the mail.
