The Birthday Bonanza Suite is one of my all-time favorite Stampin’ Up! suites! I love everything about it – the bright cheery colors in the DSP (Designer Series Paper), the fun, fun images (that koala is too cute), and the cute little pompoms to put on the birthday hats. What fun! Take a look at some of the Stampin’ Up samples made with this set.
Aren’t these images so fun! Over the next few days, I’ll be posting projects that I’ve done with this suite of products. Some of them will be CASEs (Copy And Share Everywhere) of these projects so that you can make them too!
Exploring the Birthday Buddies Stamp Set
Let’s look at some of the products that are included in this suite starting with the stamps.
These images are just darling. They are photopolymer which means they are clear so that it’s easy to stamp the base image and then the detail because you can see where you’re stamping. The koala has a base image plus the eyes, nose, and mouth. The toucan has the base image and a solid beak image. The lion has the base image, his mane and tail, and his facial features. The other cool thing about the way these images layer is that you can use different colors on them. So you can have a gray koala with black facial features and a lion with a mane of a different color. You can see a card I used the koala on here.
I love the little party hats. They fit perfectly on the heads. And, they also make a nice border stamped on the envelope flap or the bottom of the inside of the card, especially when paired with the pompoms!
But, I think, my favorite set of images is the packages and the bows. They make wonderful accents on all kinds of birthday cards. Especially if, like me, you don’t like nekkid envelopes! The tall, skinny package can double as a candle with the pompom image as the flame. The pompom can also be the topper on one of the party hats. So versatile!
I also really like the words and fonts on the sentiments. The fonts are playful and the words can be used both for kids and adults. In the next few posts, I’ll show you both kid and adult cards so you can see what I mean.
Exploring the Birthday Bonanza Dies
Let’s look at the dies that are included in this suite. There are some fun things here!
So, you have the obvious dies – the characters, the balloon, the hat, and the pompom. But, my favorites are the cute little banners. You can use them for so many different kinds of cards. One of the samples from Stampin’ Up! used them to make a shaker card. Of course, I CASED that because my grandson just loves shaker cards! And, they make cute accents on baby cards, Christmas cards, and birthday cards.
Finally, there is the tag cut out. I’m always looking for cute tag ideas because I’m all about the pretty packaging! In an upcoming post, I’ll show you how to make a shaker tag.
Exploring the Birthday Bonanza DSP
I love pretty paper and I love colorful paper. This paper ticks both boxes.
I made this picture nice and big so that you could see the patterns. The paper is double-sided and you get two sheets of each for 12 sheets total. Of course, there is a pattern with each of the characters. But the other patterns are cute too. I love the candles, presents, and balloons. I have some sample using those patterns to show you. And, although they are hard to see in this picture, there are 3 sides with a nice overall pattern that can be used on any type of card, not just birthday.
Exploring the Colors
I think one of the reasons I love this suite so much is the colors. There are so many great combinations that you can pull from this color palette. When I’m struggling with picking colors for a project, I go to my favorite DSP and let it pick the colors for me! I’ve used combinations of these colors a lot lately.
Exploring the Accessories
This suite has two adorable accessories. First, the ribbon. It’s Daffodil Delight and it’s ruched so it adds a fun texture to your projects.
The second is my fave – little pompoms! They look so cute on top of the hats or just scattered on a card as accents or along the bottom of the card as a border. They really coordinate well with the colors in the paper. Check them out.
Finally, there’s one more item in this suite – packaging. The gusseted cellophane bags are printed with the pompom image and are just waiting to be filled with treats!
