Today’s Project – Star Treat Bags
The demonstrators at Crafty Collaborations are hopping again today and our theme is Anything but a card. At first, I was a little stumped because I was short on time and most of my non-card projects are very time-consuming. Then I looked at my desk and saw the two Halloween Star Treat Bags and knew I have something to contribute to this hop., So here I am.
The bag on the left was made by my friend Lisa Lange at her Virtual Party last Saturday. I love everything about this bag. Did you notice that the sentiment mats are in candy corn colors? The frame and haunted house from Scary Silhouettes are so cute. And, she lined the inside front of her bag with Vellum so that the light flickers more evenly. That inspired me to do the same with my bag with one minor change. I colored the Vellum with a Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends before adding it to my bag.
The bag on the right was made by my friend Wanda Johnson. When Stampin’ Up! demonstrators get together at retreats we make each other little gifts with treats. Wanda made her bag for 12 of us. I love the way she used the washi tape. And her color scheme is just perfect!
My Star Treat Bag
My bag was inspired by a card on page 13 in the mini-catalog. I just love the way you can outline DSP to make cute little gifts. I was also inspired by Lisa to add Vellum to my bag although I took it one step further and colored my Vellum. Without the candy canes this bag could be perfect for a birthday.
Star Treat Bags
These bags are so cute and are not just for Halloween. As you can see, I’ve used them for Christmas, but they could also be used for 4th of July, birthdays, and lots of other occasions. There are 10 bags per pack and each pack is $10. So $1 per bag. And they are so cute and easy to decorate.
Today’s Color Palette
I knew I want to put gifts on my bag and that I didn’t necessarily want traditional Christmas colors. In fact, if you removed the candy canes, this bag would work for a birthday, too. The papers in the Celebrate Everything DSP which is only available using Stampin’ Rewards have bright non-traditional that were perfect for this project. I took my color inspiration directly from the DSP.
