Crafty Collaborations is a group of demonstrators from all over the world who organize blog hops like this to inspire each other and you to unleash your creativity. Today’s hop features items from the new July-December Mini Catalog. I’ve chosen to show you items from the Sweetest Christmas Suite Collection.
today’s project – Sweetest Christmas
I love Christmas! I have over 100 boxes of Christmas decorations and I decorate every room in my house, plus my front yard, plus my backyard! It takes about 4 days and I need help from the neighborhood boys to carry the boxes up from the basement! So, when I saw this suite I fell in love!
Candy canes have a memorable place in my life, too. When I was 4, I ate too many! And I was so sick and had to drink Pepto Bismal to calm my stomach. And, since then, I have not eaten anything with peppermint or taken Pepto Bismal. But I do love the way candy canes look and use them in decorating every year!
I created this card for the Crafty Collaborations New Catalog Launch on July 2nd. It was a fun-filled day with presentations from all over the world! Each presentation featured a suite or bundle from the new mini and included at least one but sometimes many awesome tips. I know I learned a lot. You can check it out here.
Plus, everyone who participated created a tutorial which we are selling to support Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières to purchase Ready To Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF). Malnutrition is a major threat to the world’s public health and a leading cause of death for children under five years old. Long-lasting and ready to eat without the addition of water, RUTF is an efficient solution for remote regions where refrigeration is limited and clean water is in short supply. RUTF provides children with the essential vitamins, minerals, fat, and protein their small bodies need. Please consider supporting this important cause!
You can purchase the tutorial here.
today’s Color Palette
I just love this classic retro color combination. The pool party looks so good paired with the classic red & green.
Sweetest Christmas Suite
I love, love, love this suite. What do I love? Let me list just a few things for you. First, the candy canes face both ways. Second, there’s red & white glimmer paper. Third, the sentiments on both stamp sets are spot on. Fourth, the background die is more versatile than you might think. If you’d like to see how versatile check out my presentation here. And, finally, the DSP is so cool.
This pattern was the inspiration for my card. Just look at all those candy canes! And, the best part is the dies cut them out!
I had the opportunity to hear the DSP designer describe how she created the DSP. She struggled a bit because stripes are stripes and how do you make them fresh? So, she thought of the texture of tea towels. So, many of the patterns have a linen-like texture that gives them a lot of interest.
Make the INside Pretty
See what I mean about the greetings? There are a couple of really great inside greetings. And since I decorate my insides, I appreciate having some options.
Don’t Forget the envelope
I love that Stampin’ Up! has pretty envelopes for slim-line cards! Yes, you can use an A10 business envelope. But they don’t have the same feel as these slimline envelopes. I’d like to see a package of Basic White slim-line envelopes become a permanent catalog item!
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and that you’ll consider purchasing the tutorial. Child welfare is near and dear to my heart.
But now, it’s time to see what others from Crafty Collaborations have in store for you. The new mini catalog is AMAZING so, I’m sure you’ll get lots of inspiration! So, grab a beverage, sit back, relax, and enjoy the hop.
So, do you need a mini catalog? Drop me a note here and I’ll pop one in the mail to you!
