Today’s post & project is about Gratitude. I have two friends who have done so much for me that I can’t even begin to repay them. I am so grateful to them that I decided to make my card for them. They’ll both get the same card but one will get a different color palette but the design will be the same. I chose to use the Two-Tone flora bundle because they both love flowers. I hope they enjoy this card as I had making it for them.
Today’s Project – Two-Tone Flora
When I saw this DSP as part of the Dandy Designs DPS from Sale-a-bration, I knew I had to make a card with it. And when I saw that it’s also available in Mango Melody, Petal Pink, and Fresh Freesia, I knew I had to play with it.
Then I found the sentiment in the Something Fancy stamp set, I knew I had my design for this card. I embossed it with Basic White embossing powder on a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock and then die-cut it with a Tailored Tag die.
For the flowers, I used Costal Cabana and Balmy Blue with a coordinating color for the accents. Then I added some foliage – two stems from Around the Bend dies and one stamped in Granny Apple Green and cut with the coordinating die. One tip – you don’t have to use the entire stem. Feel free to cut it down to the size that looks good on your card.
After I finished the card and photographed it as a portrait card, I realized it could’ve been just as cute as a landscape card. Just goes to show that there is no one right way to design a card!
Today’s Color Palette
I took the colors on my card directly from the DSP. And, you may already know this from previous blog posts. I’m always happy to use suggestions from other sources, especially those who know more than I know, especially about colors!
Dandy Designs DSP
This DSP is fabulous! You get 4 sheets of each design and it’s in some of my favorite colors – Coastal Cabana, Fresh Freesia, and Balmy Blue. Plus it’s free with a $100 purchase until February 28 during Sale-a-bration!
Two-Tone Flora Bundle
You may be thinking that it’s just another flower stamp set. But, these are beautiful flowers! It’s a two-step stamp, so you get a lot of detail and color just from stamping- no coloring is required! And, not only do the dies cut out the stamped flowers, you get the beautiful full-page die that can add so much interest to a card. I can’t wait to share some of my ideas on how to use this die with you!
Something Fancy Stamp Set
This stamp set was one of the first things on my wish list. I love the variety of sentiments and the mixed font. Plus, many of the sentiments have coordinating dies. That’s always a bonus.
Tailored Made Tags
These tags are so versatile. Yes, you can make gift tags with them, but they also work as an element on a card front. I sure hope they don’t retire because if they do I will really miss them!
Make the Inside Pretty – tWO -tONE fLORA
Since the Dandy Design DSP has 4 sheets of each pattern, I had no hesitation to use it liberally. For the inside, I cut a large enough piece to allow a flower and stem to be glued on top of it. And the best part, the DSP is free with a $100 purchase.
Don’t Forget the Envelope – two-tONE fLORA
Again, because I have so much of the DSP, I covered the envelope flap and added a flower and a piece of foliage cut in Basic White.
I hope my card inspires you to make your own card to express your gratitude for someone in your life. Now it’s time to see what the other from Crafty Collaboration have to inspire you. So, grab a beverage, sit back and relax, and enjoy the hop!
Can you imagine 36 step-by-step tutorials using current Stampin’ Up! products? And it’s yours for a $50 purchase in my online store!
