Today I’m hopping with Crafty Collaborations, a group of demonstrators from around the world who inspire each and you to express your creativity. Today’s Technique Tuesday features watercoloring techniques. I’ve done a Watercolor Wreath to inspire you.
Today’s Project – Watercolor Wreath
I love the gradations of color in this wreath. It was pretty simple to make and I’m going to show you how!
First, spritz a piece of Fluid 100 watercolor paper on both sides, getting it pretty wet This will prevent the paper from curling. Next, take a water painter and dip it in some parakeet party ink and wash it across the wet surface. Do this again for Garden Green, Evening Evergreen, and Shaded Spruce. Make sure to clean the water painter between colors. You should have something that looks like the image below.
Next, create a frame using two-layer circles and Garden Green cardstock.
Now, take each leaf and glue it to the frame overlapping the leaves as shown.
To finish off the wreath add little dots of Real Red Pearlized Enamel Affects. I mounted the wreathe on Real Red and Basic White layer and used the Painted Christmas DSP on the card base. A Real Red bow finished it off.
Today’s Color Palette
I wanted a range of greens to make the wreath so I picked a bright one, a traditional one, a dark one, and a blue-green one. And, of course, I finished it off with a traditional red.
Make the INside PRetty
I used the same DSP to decorate the inside of the card.
Don’t forget the Envelope
I think the envelope looks great with the Painted Christmas DSP on the flap.
